Website Maintenance

Sites decay. Dependencies age into vulnerabilities, content goes stale, and small performance regressions accumulate until the site is measurably slower than it was at launch.

What this solves

THE PROBLEMS THIS WORK EXISTS TO FIX.

In detail

Keeping the site fast, current, and secure after launch.

What maintenance covers

Dependency and platform updates applied on a schedule and tested before they reach production. Uptime and error monitoring with alerting. Off-site backups with periodic restore tests. Security headers reviewed as the site changes.

Content updates within an agreed allowance, so routine changes do not need a separate conversation each time.

Continuous improvement, not just upkeep

Maintenance is also the window for incremental work: fixing the page that underperforms, tightening a form that people abandon, improving a slow template.

Small, regular improvements compound in a way that periodic redesigns do not.

Reporting you can act on

What changed, what broke, what was fixed, and what the numbers did. Reporting that requires interpretation by the person who wrote it is not reporting.

How it runs

THE PROCESS.

  1. 01

    Baseline

Current performance, dependency state, and security posture recorded.

  2. 02

    Monitor

Uptime, errors, and Core Web Vitals tracked continuously.

  3. 03

    Maintain

Scheduled updates, backups, and restore verification.

  4. 04

    Improve

    Agreed incremental work each cycle.

  5. 05

Plain reporting on changes and results.

Questions

FAQ

  • Is maintenance required?

It is not mandatory, but an unmaintained site becomes a security and performance problem over time. It is an optional line item in the configurator.

  • What is not covered?

New pages, new features, and redesign work are scoped separately. Routine content edits within the agreed allowance are covered.

  • Do you maintain sites you did not build?

Sometimes. It depends on the platform and the state of the codebase, so it needs a look first.

  • How are backups handled?

Off-site, on a schedule appropriate to how often the site changes, with periodic restore testing.
